Run, Walk or Volunteer at Regina’s Run on June 2nd!
Regina’s Run is Sunday, June 2nd, 2013 at Branch Brook Park in
Newark, NJ. Registration opens at 9am and the 5k begins at 10am.
Awards ceremony to follow. Price is $25 per person for individual or
team participants. All children ages 12 and under participating in the

To form your own team, click the “Register Now” button and select the “Team Captain” category of your choice (runner, walker or kids fun run)
to create your team name and complete your registration. Once you’ve created your team, notify your family and friends to come into Active and register as part of your team!
Each member joining an existing team will select the “Team Member” category of your choice (runner, walker or kids fun run) to join a team.
Then select the team name from the drop down menu and complete your registration.
Each individual (not joining a team) can follow the “Register Now” link and select the “Individual” category of your choice (runner, walker or kids fun run) to complete your registration.

Completed registration forms can be returned via fax with credit card payment to 732-576-8120 (note: we do not accept American Express) or can be mailed to our office with check made payable to Randy Foye Foundation. Early bird pricing will be honored for all registrations postmarked by March 15th. If you are registering a team by mail, please be sure to have all team members write your team’s name in the enclosed space on the registration form.

Foye Receives “Miracle Maker” Honor from United Way
On May 6th at the United Way of Essex and West Hudson’s 15th Annual Night of Miracles Gala, Randy was presented with the Community Linkage Miracle Maker Award for his contributions to the community through the outreach of the Randy Foye Foundation.
Foye Has Record Setting Season for Jazz
The Jazz finished the regular season 43-39, just missing this year’s playoffs.Randy quickly established himself as a lethal shooting threat, earning the nickname “En Foyego” from the Jazz faithful.He averaged in double figures in scoring for the 6th season in his 7-year NBA career, appearing in all 82 games as a regular starter for the Jazz
Randy shot 41% from 3-point range this season, tying his career best performance from three (also shot 41% during the 2007-2008 season).That year, he attempted a total of 148 3-pointers.This season, he made 178 three’s, setting a new Utah Jazz franchise record.He broke the previous record on March 1st vs. Bobcats, connecting on his 130th 3-pointer of the season. In a March 30th contest vs. the Nets, Randy broke the record for number of 3-pointers made in a half by a Jazz player with 7; tied the franchise record for three’s made in a game with 8; and tied his own career high for three’s made in a game (also 8). His performance was sensational as he shot 82% overall from the floor in that game, and a blistering 89% from 3-point range.
Assist 4 Life Update
The students in the Assist 4 Life program have been working hard this year in addition to enjoying some unique experiences. They have applied Randy’s life story to their own lives and learned from his example. At the beginning of the year, each student completed a goal mapping exercise in which they identified several top goals that they want to achieve by the end of this school year, and several top goals that they want to achieve in their lifetime. Each student was presented with a framed copy of their goals to serve as a daily reminder of what they envision for themselves.
Students gained further knowledge of reading comprehension as well as belief in self by analyzing news articles in which Foye was quoted throughout the season. Students also participated in an in-depth discussion of Black History Month by studying biographies of famous individuals and applying those lessons to today’s world. Students created their own business plan for both an animal shelter and a retail store. They also analyzed music lyrics for content, comprehension and language patterns.
The Assist 4 Life students were particularly interested in the lesson encompassing John Wooden’s Pyramid of Success. Each student received a copy of the famous coach’s book, “Wooden,” and together dissected the pyramid layer by layer, as well as the coach’s life lessons. They watched President Barack Obama inaugurated for a second term, and learned about famous historical figures during Women’s History Month. Students also shared opinions during discussions about current events that impact their lives. This prompted an analysis of the branches of our government and the elected officials who represent their voice from local to national levels.
The Assist 4 Life students have individually made enormous strides toward reaching their full potential in life. This group, our 5th class of students, has demonstrated through their behavior the understanding of important values including: maintaining a positive attitude, good friendships and relationships, success vs. failure, persevering through obstacles and how to be a person of character.
VUHoops March Madness Blogathon Nets $1,274.00 for RFF
Since 2009, the VUHoops.com community has participated in a blogathon during March Madness in support of the Randy Foye Foundation. This year they raised $1,274.00 for RFF! We are thankful to the site’s administration for generating awareness and raising funds for the Randy Foye Foundation, as well as all of the members who donated.
